THE TREATMENT PROCESS AND YOUR PART IN IT

Throughout your rehabilitation, many techniques will be used, all

chosen according to your individual restrictions and needs. All of your

sessions will be conducted individually by one of our licensed

therapists. Your active participation and

commitment to your rehabilitation process is a very

important component for recovery and treatment.

To facilitate recovery, our approach is gentle and

non-invasive yet highly effective.

Therapeutic techniques may include structural

components consisting of:
• Muscle Energy Techniques  • Mobilization

• Myofascial Release  • Strain/Counterstrain

 • Visceral Fascial Release   • Therapeutic Massage

These techniques are designed to obtain a biomechanical and

soft tissue three dimensional balance throughout the body.

Balance is the key component to a more efficient and pain free structure.

Neurological and circulatory techniques include:
• Craniosacral Therapy • Zero Balancing  • Acupressure
• Manual Lymph Drainage  • Electrotherapy (occasionally)
Again, we are striving to encourage and restore a balance to the

body's tissues and inherent rhythms.

Functional techniques include:
• Therapeutic Exercises   • Neuromuscular Re-education

• Lumbar and / or Cervical Stabilization   • Gait Training

• Education for Posture
• Body Mechanics  • Relaxation  • Stress Management

• Assistance with activities of daily living

• Pilates • Foam Roller & Physioball

• Balance Evaluation & treatment and

assessment for fall/risk management

• Vertigo Management RX Evaluation & Treatment

The goal here is to increase your mobility and strength so

that you can maintain the newly achieved function and

balance in your system and progress to independence.

We also now offer Aromatherapy and Kinesio Taping.

Your initial visits will be forty minutes long and you will be assigned a primary

therapist. Please bring your insurance cards and physician's referral for

physical therapy. A treatment plan will be devised with your individual needs and requirements. Each session will then be approximately 40 minutes long and you will see our team of therapists who are well trained in manual therapy. Your primary therapist will monitor your daily progress and correspond with your physician as needed. Throughout your treatment process, you will be re-evaluated so that we may modify and progress with your treatment plan as needed.

According to Connecticut State Law, you may have 6 visits per year without a physicians referral/prescription. However, most insurance plans will not cover PT services unless ordered by a physician. Please contact our office for further information regarding this unique program.

Our commitment to you...
is to keep your needs a primary so that we may best assist you on the path to your full potential and recovery. The final goal is INDEPENDENCE.
